I am a proud graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, and over the past four years, I have had the profound honor of supporting more than 200 mamas across Indiana through pregnancy, birth and postpartum — both virtually and in-person. We loved that Mariama took care of us and invested in us as people. Learned some of our likes and dislikes, fears and concerns and advocated for us wholeheartedly throughout the laboring process. She got ahead of many things that would come up during the laboring process and prepared us for things we might encounter. Our birthing experience didn't go as planned (wanted natural but had to have an emergency c-section). Through all of the scary moments, moments of uncertainty and worry. Mariama was a through what folt like a very real storm. She stayed with my husband and talked him through panic, she waited through the surgery for us to get out, prayed for us, and checked on us through the recovery! Our little bay and I wouldn't have been able to get through this without her and we are beyond grateful!

Getting Mariama as our Doula was the best decision for our family. As a first time parents, we had a lot of learning to do. Mariama supported us throughout the entire process without crossing boundaries. She kept things it needed it to be and at the same time was there for me as a friend. Mariama was reliable and quick to respond. She checked on me frequently leading up to the birth. I highly recommend Mariama as a doula. She was very supportive and did everything possible to make me feel more comfortable. She was those extra set of hands that you really need on the day of birth, whether it is giving you sips of water, applying counter pressure, suggesting different positions to progress labor, or holding a heating pad to your back for hours— she was wonderful and her calm presence was very welcome during labor and birth. She will make you feel safe!

This was my first time having a doula and I am so very blessed to have chosen Mariam. I did not have Mariam from the start of my pregnancy and she was still willing to take me on as her client. She was so easy to communicate with and truly cares for the well being of her clients.
